Job Description

This is a key role in the Ministry's Pacific and Development Group tasked with strengthening the inclusiveness of New Zealand's international development effort and that of our partners, in particular through promotion and protection of human rights and the advancement of gender equality and women's empowerment.

You would be the Ministry's policy lead on inclusiveness, gender and human rights within international development. You will establish and maintain MFAT policy on inclusive development and ensure that this is reflected in strategic and operational frameworks, aid programme standards, and in performance and management information systems.   You will lead policy analysis, advice and engagement in this area. You will champion and influence gender and human rights within MFAT, with our partners and in the Pacific and multilateral arena.

We seek a person with a strong background in inclusive social or economic policy, human rights and gender. You will have well developed public policy skills. You will be a highly effective at engaging and influencing leaders, institutions and people. International development experience is an advantage.
