Job Description

We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator for the Design Unit within the Asset Management Division.

 

The Asset Management Division is responsible for leading the strategic and tactical asset planning and management of the Ministry's properties and other assets.  The Ministry has a significant network of 100+ office and Official Residence premises overseas, providing facilities and work environment for staff to conduct the Government's official business effectively.  It also has approximately 250 offshore staff residential properties, assets and posts' vehicles.

The Design Unit provide architectural design services to the Ministry. This includes developing and managing design and décor principles and standards, specifications and managing assigned projects and procurement activity. This includes working with internal clients, designers and suppliers and in-country consultants.

 

The Design Coordinator will be responsible for providing a wide range of design, project coordination support services. They will be required to understand and assist in managing the design of specific projects as directed.

This includes working with the internal team and clients, designers, suppliers and in-country consultants to ensure projects are delivered to client requirements and design standards, and can be achieved within the agreed timelines and budgets.

It will also include developing and delivering support documentation for the design unit as well as procurement and delivery activity associated with projects, all to ensure that projects and programme are managed, co-ordinated and designed according to project and design standards.

 

Ideally you would have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Some previous experience of providing support services preferably in architecture and/or interior design support. Offshore experience would be a bonus as would procurement of services and products experience.
  • Some knowledge/interest of architecture, interior design and construction principles would be advantageous
  • Computer literacy including Outlook, Word and Excel Microsoft Word, Excel (CAD, Revit, Photoshop would be a advantageous)
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people (written and oral)
  • Possesses a strong achievement/delivery/organisation focus – sets high standards including accuracy and attention to detail

 

This is a fixed term role for two years. 

You must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a New Zealand Permanent Residence Visa and be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate NZ Government Security clearance to apply.
