Job Description

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (the Ministry) acts in the world to make New Zealanders safer and more prosperous. We do this by building connections with and influencing other countries to advance NewZealand's interests and project NewZealand values. We provide advice to the Government on the implications for NewZealand of what is happening in the world.

The Wellington Facilities Advisor is a hands on role and will be responsible for supporting the Ministry by providing customer-centric services and assistance in facilities management for Wellington sites.

This includes:

  • Supporting facilities, events, and logistics management
  • Vehicle management
  • Contractor management
  • Relationship management
  • Supporting MFAT to maintain operational excellence

In this hands on role you will be a part of the many facets of MFAT. You will be the face of the Facilities Team working ith contractors and staff throughout the Wellington sites.

We are looking for someone who is primarily customer focused, but also proactive and energetic.

The following key accountabilities of this role assist in delivering the Ministry's purpose.

  • To be successful in this role you'll need at least three-five years' experience in a related role and experience in facilities management.
  • Exposure to property and building regulatory framework including tenant obligations (e.g. evacuation, business continuity practices, health and safety).
  • High level of competency in the use of the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good ability at complex problem solving.

Although required to work to independently, you must be a strong team player.
