The Professional Leader of Psychology is responsible for providing clinical leadership of psychological services provided in all settings in the organisation to ensure clinical service provision is underpinned by the best clinical practice to agreed set of standards and service requirements.
This position is responsible for providing professional leadership and direction to the workforce to deliver quality care by working in partnership with practitioners and other key staff across the organisation's divisions and community services. The role is responsible for supporting the workforce by ensuring competency standards are in place and developing workforce capability. The professional leader would ensure the workforce and models of service are aligned with the expected goals of the organisation.
Working alongside other allied health professional leaders, Clinical Directors of Allied Health Scientific and Technical and in close collaboration with Service and Operations Managers you will advise on psychological services as well contribute to strategy at local, regional and national levels. You will advise and lead on the workforce strategy, performance and quality issues, drive the development and implementation of quality, safety and productivity markers as well as challenge traditional models of care and workforce options to ensure the most efficient, effective and appropriate psychological services are provided to CMH patients within the resources available.
Our preferred candidate will have previous experience in leadership and will also bring a strong clinical background into this role. Emotional intelligence, a good understanding of cultural perspectives and strong problem-solving skills are vital to be successful in this role, as is an ability to demonstrate tact in complex decision making.

- Relevant clinical qualification in clinical or health psychology and current Annual Practising Certificate
- 5 – 10 years clinical experience at a senior or higher level
- Effective involvement in the development and implementation of clinical inactivates across Allied Health
- Proven experience in leading teams, projects and improvement initiatives
