We are looking for a Knowledge and Information Specialist to support and partner with our business in managing data and information as valuable assets. This role is key to ensuring the PCO meets its obligations under the Public Records Act 2005 through a user-focused approach, as well as developing, guiding and supporting the use of approved Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools within the PCO.

The role
In this role, you'll play a key part in managing and improving how we manage, care for and engage with knowledge and information across the organisation. What you'll do:
- Drive improvements in information management maturity across the PCO through IM activities such as physical records management, retention and disposal and information classification and taxonomy development and implementation.
- Develop and maintain information management policies, strategies, and training programmes.
- Administer and support M365 information tools including SharePoint, Teams, CoPilot agents, OnePlaceMail and Purview.
- Partner with teams to deliver business-centric solutions and promote best practice.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on effective information management practices.
About you
We're seeking someone with the skills and experience to champion best practice information management and deliver practical, user-focused solutions. We're looking for someone who has:
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Public Records Act and information management standards.
- 2+ years' experience in knowledge and information management roles.
- 2+ years' experience administering and designing information architecture/solutions in M365 across SharePoint, Teams, CoPilot agents, OnePlaceMail and Purview.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in M365 and general office systems.
- Commitment to growing understanding of te reo Māori and tikanga.
- A tertiary qualification in Information Management or equivalent experience is required.
