Job Description

Clayton Mitchell, NZ First List MP based in Tauranga is looking for a new team member. This is a 20 hour a week opportunity with an expectation that the office is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm. Bring your administrative skills and your proactive, empathetic and unflappable nature to a role that's rewarding and varied.

You'll be based in the Tauranga office of Clayton Mitchell MP. This role is a varied and multifaceted one. First, you'll be handling the administrative side of things in the office - from reception services and dealing with correspondence, managing the MP's email inbox and calendar, to offering the support your MP needs and researching issues when required. Second, you'll be the go-to person for people from the community who may need advice, have issues, or want to talk over anything of note within the electorate, whether it's over the phone or in person. You will be an outstanding communicator and problem solver.

You've got a firm grasp of the current political landscape and where the electorate sits within it. You appreciate the sometimes unpredictable nature of this environment and instead of letting it faze you, you thrive on it - putting your proactive, calm, and flexible personality to good use. It goes without saying you're someone who's empathetic and respectful, and you're confident in building strong relationships with a diverse range of people. You're happy to work autonomously and are well known for your resilient and unflappable nature.

You'll be stepping into an environment that is unique, exciting, and rewarding. This really is a role unlike any other and if you're passionate about giving back and helping your community, it's right up your alley. As an organisation, it's extremely important to us that our people feel supported and are given the opportunity to continue to grow and develop their knowledge and their careers.

So what do you think? If you'd like to play an important in supporting your MP and helping your electorate, apply now.
