Our Strategy Group provides important service to the Commissioner and Police Executive team in respect of strategic planning, evidence-based decision making, performance management, and identifying innovative improvements to our operation. It's an exciting group that is successfully contributing to making New Zealanders be safe and feel safe.


Under the leadership of Deputy Chief Executive Strategy and Executive Director Strategy and Transformation, Strategy Group is composed of several directorates working in the broad area of strategy.


Our Strategy Group is made up of the following groups:

Research and Evaluation

Strategic Integration

Mobility and Innovation

National Performance and Insights Centre

Policy and Advice

Social Investment

Ministerial Services

EPMO (Enterprise portfolio management office)


We have an opportunity for you to join our Strategy Group working as part of the National Performance & Insights Centre (performance team.) You will perform a pivotal role in advising and contributing to the development of Police's performance systems, including advising on the development of performance measures, and providing advice around performance to Police and external stakeholders. This is a dynamic and challenging position where you will be expected to provide strategic advice on organisational performance within public sector or other comparable organisations.


Other key attributes to ensure success in this role is the ability to think outside the box, the ability to provide insights into performance improvement, and the ability to lead project teams across business units 



Tertiary qualification desirable



Minimum at least 2 years providing strategic advice on organisational performance within public sector or other comparable organisations 



Lead - Level 2 Manager/Leader

Partner - Level 2 Manager/Leader

Solve - Level 2 Manager/Leader
