LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR at Te Papa, Wellington - Wairarapa

Te Papa stands proud as an iconic national building housing the treasures of the nation and is a vibrant destination for both national and international visitors. Tākina Events is an operational function of the Commercial Directorate of Te Papa.
Te Papa is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to join our Tākina Events Team. In this role you will be responsible for the set-up and pack-down needs for our Te Papa Venues events and functions. We are after a team member that has great attention to detail, can plan ahead and solve logistical issues across our many functions and events we run each day. This isn't a 9-5 job, and you will be expected to work across a 7 day roster including evenings/nights, Public Holidays and weekend work.
Ideally you will have:
- Prior experience in working to and with hospitality service levels
- Prior experience in logistical planning
- Prior experience with supervising an events/hospitality team
- Customer-focused attitude
- Excellent organisation skills
- Good relationship building skills and the ability to motivate and get results from working with a broad range of people and within a team environment
- Attention to detail
- Preferably hold a Manager's Certificate and current First Aid qualification
Along with Te Papa's cafes and on-site function venues, in 2023 we will also operate Tākina Events Convention Centre. The work across our operation is busy and fast paced so we need the right people who can get up and go in an ever changing flexible hospitality environment.
The appointing salary for this role will be $47,450 - $60,163 with further room for progression through the band.

From 1 July 2022 appointment to a position at Te Papa will require a declaration of Vaccination Status (confirmation that you are currently ‘up to date' with vaccination against COVID 19 or, you are not currently vaccinated or ‘up to date' with vaccination against COVID-19). Future appointees will also need to agree to comply with any future Government or Te Papa mandates or requirements relating to vaccination against COVID-19.
