Job Description

The Parliamentary Service Finance team provides a range of financial, planning and procurement services within an exciting and unique organisation. You will enjoy a high trust relationship and work as part of a collaborative, driven and fun team.

The Finance Trainer will develop and deliver a comprehensive training programme for non-finance staff on-precinct as well as at Electorate and Community offices throughout New Zealand. You will work closely and collaboratively across all finance functions and develop a good understanding of the finance service offering. This role is the next step for the Finance team in further embedding a customer-centric service culture. This key role supports us in improving parliamentary effectiveness through the provision of quality advice as well as in ensuring staff feel connected to Parliament.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive training programme encompassing all Finance functions
  • Provide high-quality and timely training and support to staff on-precinct and at Electorate and Community offices throughout New Zealand
  • Promote finance tools and information that will enable staff to do their job effectively
  • Collaborate within the Finance team to identify commonly asked themes, pain points and gaps and improve the finance service offering
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key support teams and ensure finance trainings are connected to other training programmes

What you will bring to the role:

  • Experience in developing and delivering training material or similar position
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage the audience and impart information clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high quality, responsive customer service
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Willingness to travel within New Zealand.
