Job Description

Research Development Office
Wellington, New Zealand

The role has a particular focus on developing new opportunities from non-traditional sources of external research income. This involves working with business, government, non-governmental agencies, industry, and the not-for-profit sector, both domestically and internationally in order to secure funding for new research. On occasion, as workloads demand, it may also be necessary to work on traditional grant funding proposals.

To be successful in this role, you will be an excellent communicator, capable of pitching ideas and explaining technical and scientific content in a simple and accessible manner. You will have highly developed relationship building skills, with an ability to understand client needs and identify project opportunities. Experience in project leadership, and a proven record in negotiating research programmes, building partnerships, and securing funding from a wide range of external organisations would be an advantage.

Specialist knowledge in a relevant discipline such as the physical or biological sciences, engineering, health or ICT is desirable.

The role is 40 hours per week, permanent, full-time.

Salary between $92,395 to $110,800 per annum.
