Sales Assistants (x2 Part Time, x2 Full Time) - Te Papa Tongarewa at Te Papa, Wellington - Wairarapa

As we prepare for the high season, we are looking for four retail professionals to join our busy Te Papa Store on Cable Street to work on a permanent, full-time and part-time basis.

To excel in this role, you will be a person who understands how retail supports and enhances our visitor experience.

We are looking for people can provide exceptional customer service and work collaboratively with our team.

You will be someone who enjoys interacting with customers and sharing the taonga and stories of our artists.

You will work in a way that reflects manaakitanga (care and respect), builds whanaungatanga (strong relationships), and encourages auahatanga (creativity).

You will have:

• Experience in retail sales, and be motivated to ensure every interaction is professional, helpful and proactive
• A passion for sales and customer service
• Knowledge about how retail supports our visitor experience
• Enjoy interacting with customers to discover which product best suits their wants and needs
• A desire to learn about our retail store, our products and their associated stories
• An understanding of Māori culture and Taonga, or an openness to learn

Positions Available:

x2 Full-time permanent positions, 40 hours per week, working Tuesday to Saturday.
x2 Permanent part-time positions 32hrs per week, working Sunday to Wednesday.

Starting salary is up to $60,216 per annum, pro-rated to reflect hours worked, and salaries will be determined by skills, experience and internal relativities.

All roles will be based at Te Papa Tongarewa, Cable Street, Wellington which is open 364 days a year.
