About the role

  • Clinical Nurse Specialist - Infectious Diseases
  • Reporting to the Nurse Manager - Infectious Diseases
  • Permanent - part-time working three days one week and two days the next
  • Adhere to guidelines of Cultural Safety and the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist providing leadership, education, case management in specific situations and support to clinical staff across the service
  • As a positive role model in clinical leadership you will work with the Infectious Diseases team, providing advice, support and information throughout the patient's disease trajectory: pre-diagnosis, diagnosis and treatment
  • Based at the Christchurch Hospital campus

Skills and experience

  • You will possess knowledge, expertise and leadership skills and have the ability to apply this to your daily practice creating the most equitable pathways for both staff and patients
  • You are a senior Registered Nurse who holds, or is working towards, a relevant post graduate qualification - a background in Infectious Diseases/Home IV would be advantageous
  • Computer literacy is strongly desirable
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise competing acute demands

  • Whakakotahitanga (ability to work in your role and actively participate and align this to our organisational values and goals)
