Job Description

The Research Resources team manages the Parliamentary Library's print and digital collections.

We're looking for a person who can switch nimbly across a range of tasks from shelving and scanning, to helping maintain the Library's research collection and answering information requests.

You'll spend most of your time in the Research Resources team doing a variety of collection management tasks. This will include:

  • acquiring new items for the Library's collections
  • assisting with managing the parliamentary papers collection
  • formatting and publishing Library content to our website
  • supporting general collection management work.

You'll also spend time each week working in the Research Client Services team supplying information to Library customers and staffing the Library's client desk.

Skills and attributes we're looking for include the following:

  • Experience in customer service
  • Great communication and collaborative team work
  • Energy and aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment
  • Degree or equivalent

Previous appointees have used this position as a springboard to professional librarian roles within the Parliamentary Service and other public sector agencies.
