The Role: What This Opportunity's All About

This role will involve working with front line managers across the Canterbury DHB and West Coast DHB with a focus on delivering on our commitment to our people to Be and Stay Well. The role is part of the Wellbeing, Health and Safety team who lead and support a wide variety of projects and initiatives, as well as providing advice and support on Occupational Health and Safety best practice. As an Health Professional in our Wellbeing Health and Safety team you will be responsible for working across the Canterbury DHB and West Coast DHB to form effective relationships with all stakeholders. You will provide subject matter expertise as part of the planning process for the annual programme of work with particular emphasis on carrying out worksite assessments for our people returning to work following an injury or illness.

Skills and experience

In addition to your evident relationship building skills and desire to continually improve the Wellbeing, Health and Safety of our workforce you will meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a current NZ Practising certificate in a health profession
  • Effectively engage, facilitate, negotiate and influence
  • Adept at problem solving and process improvement
  • Empower others to act and share accountability
  • Foster a positive culture and take responsibility for outcomes
  • Support continuous improvement by managing change
