  • This role is fixed-term for 24 months
  • Fulltime, 1 FTE Monday to Friday for the Diabetes Outpatients Service

The Team: What we do

The Diabetes and Endocrinology department are seeking an enthusiastic clinician to join our Maori Clinical nurse specialist in supporting our Maori Diabetes Patients in living well with their diabetes. Our ideal candidate for this current position is a registered nurse who holds a good appreciation of our community, is keen to invest and learn about how we support our diabetes patients, and can deliver agile and responsive care to our community.

This role is fixed-term for 24 months, working fulltime, 1 FTE Monday to Friday for the Diabetes Outpatients Service.

To be successful in securing an interview for this role, you will have:

  • a strong Maori community network and be committed to the provision of culturally appropriate services and improving the overall responsiveness of Canterbury District Health Board services for turoro and their whanau
  • enjoy working within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, have a can do attitude and can prioritise your work load
  • an experienced Registered Nurse with a current NZ practicing certificate
  • ideally you will have some experience within Diabetes, adult education or teaching
  • strong commitment and knowledge of applying the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Maori models of health to practice to advance Maori health outcomes.
