About our Team

Our team of skilled advisors work on a diverse range of activities, delivering high quality, business-focused advice and services to MSD, Oranga Tamariki and the Social Investment Agency.  We are shaping up a new approach to managing our Library and Research Service, and are seeking the right person to lead the operations of this service to our customers.

 

About the Role

The Information Management Advisor role assists with the delivery of proactive and professional research and information literacy advice drawing on our enterprise frameworks including access to published information policies and guidance.  The role also leads the management and improvement of library-related applications including Koha and Mendeley.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leading edge advice, knowledge, and research support to customers.
  • Contributing to the development of a current awareness and library training programme.
  • Identifying and contributing to improvements to the management of library collections, applications and business processes.
  • Contributing to the management of library subscriptions and collections.

 

This is a varied and challenging role in an ever changing environment, so we will value your ability to confidently build effective relationships with stakeholders and take a flexible and pragmatic approach to solutions.

 

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in a library team in a professional services or public sector organisation.
  • An appropriate postgraduate information studies qualification or equivalent experience.
  • An understanding of information/knowledge management principles, methodologies and standards.


Previous experience in delivering research advice, problem definition and requirements gathering, information literacy and/or systems training, current awareness and stakeholder management, or business process improvement is desirable.
