Job Description

Fire and Emergency New Zealand is looking for an exceptional Executive Coordinator to join our Business Services team. The Business Services team provides support to our region managers and their teams. No day is the same in this varied and interesting role working as part of a highly effective and high performing team.

Our vision is to lead integrated fire and emergency services for a safer New Zealand. We are going through significant change as a result of the amalgamation of New Zealand's urban and rural fire services on 1 July 2017. The next stages of that amalgamation process make this a very interesting and exciting time to join the organisation.

This newly created position provides executive support to the Fire Region Manager and the Region Manager Rural. The ability to anticipate priorities, risks, opportunities whilst understanding their impacts on a heavy work programme and working with the managers to meet those needs will be critical to getting the most out of the role.

The successful applicant will balance excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic with strong influencing skills across a range of stakeholders and will have a reputation for getting things done. We are looking for an Executive Coordinator who self-manages work priorities, can capably juggle multiple deadlines and remains calm and confident when things get busy. Operating with confidence and using excellent judgement to keep things moving and make sure deadlines are met will be key to being successful in the role.

There will be plenty of opportunity for the successful candidate to innovate and make their mark as they develop the role. Some travel may be required.

This is a full-time fixed-term position until 30 June 2019 based at Region 1 Headquarters, Poynton Terrace, Newtown, Auckland.
