The role - Ko te tūranga
The Senior Adviser (CDR) Capability and Guidance is a permanent new role where you can truly make your mark.
You will be involved in the development and provision of advice to agencies on meeting their privacy obligations specific to their obligations under the Customer and Product Data Act (CPDA).
This includes the development of internal operational processes as they relate to CPDA relevant activities, work collaboratively with other internal teams on issues or investigations arising from agency non-compliance, and contribute to the development of data collection, analysis, reporting and reviews.
While the introduction of the CPDA represents a new area of work for the Office, the Capability and Guidance team has a high level of expertise and experience in the development and promotion of education and regulatory guidance to agencies and in working collaboratively on the implementation of complex new areas of work.
What you bring - Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu
- a relevant tertiary qualification along with at least 3 years' relevant experience e.g. in operational policy, producing regulatory advice and guidance to agencies, working with complex pieces of legislation
- a confident communicator, at ease developing strong professional relationships and engaging with diverse external stakeholders, able to bring people on board
- superior writing skills and the ability to translate complex legal and other concepts into plain language
- awareness and respect of Te Ao Māori and other cultural issues, and the ability to reflect these sensitively in your professional practice
- experience leading projects end to end and comfortable working to meet deadlines
