A position is available within the Digital Forensics Unit (DFU), based in Dunedin. This position provides the opportunity to get training and experience in the field of Digital Forensics. We are looking for someone who is team orientated, will get involved, and bring fresh and positive energy to the team. Although this role has an information technology aspect, due to the nature of the work and environment, personality is just as important as technical capabilities to be successful in this role.

  • Self-motivation, and the ability to work and communicate positively in a team environment.



  • As part of the interview process applicants will undergo a proficiency test, this is a skills based practical test. 
  • The successful applicant to this position will be required to undergo a full reference and security check prior to any offer of employment being made and must either have or be eligible to obtain a Government security clearance to Secret level.  This requirement means you must have resided in one of the following countries for the last ten years: New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, or United States of America.



  • The successful applicant must reside in Dunedin (transfer costs are not included).
  • The Digital Forensic Technician role is a step in the career path to becoming a Digital Forensics Analyst. The successful applicant will be placed in the appropriate position based on experience.
