Site Manager – Greymouth/West Coast

  • Lead and inspire a passionate team based in Greymouth!
  • Bring your exceptional people management skills to a high performing team.
  • Help shape and influence how we deliver our key services.

About us:

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, is in the community every day seeking to make a positive difference to the lives of tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for getting things right for tamariki to join our team as the Site Manager at our Greymouth site.

If you have been thinking lately about a more relaxed lifestyle, with a community-focused atmosphere, this could be the opportunity for you.  If you have a love of the outdoors, then this is definitely the place to be - the coastline and bush are on your doorstep.  Greymouth is the perfect base with some of the most amazing regional destinations within a few hours' drive in any direction.

About the role:

This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead a team that demonstrates our vision and commitment to ensuring children and young people get the care, services and support they need to thrive. Our leadership team has led out a number of ground-breaking initiatives which have since been taken up by other regions, and you will get the opportunity to join a leadership team that is united around the vision of achieving transformational change to get the best for our tamariki and rangatahi.

About you:

We are looking for a results orientated leader, who inspires and is able to strongly communicate the Oranga Tamariki vision and purpose.  We have a strong commitment to partnerships with community and iwi.  You'll leverage off this to quickly establish solid working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, building on interagency and wider community engagement.

Internally, your astute business acumen will allow you to effectively manage financial and human resource responsibilities. Your strong people management experience will be of benefit as you provide clear direction to your team, leading them in a climate of change. On a day to day basis you will work to identify and effectively mitigate risk.

Behind the scenes, you'll have your finger on the pulse as you work to monitor and maximise performance, whilst ensuring our work is compliant, within budget, of high quality, and current with changes in social work and business practices.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Demonstrate the commitment to getting things right for the children and young people in your community.
  • Have proven experience in successfully leading and managing service delivery operations within social work services context or comparable organisation.
  • Strengths-based leadership, with the ability to collaborate with others across the spectrum of the Ministry's functions to achieve mutually agreed goals.
  • Show strong expertise in business planning, financial management, resource allocation and performance monitoring processes.
  • Have excellent computer, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Have a current full 'clean' driver licence.
  • Demonstrate proven successful experience in leadership with interagency partners and the wider community sector.
