Senior Advisor, Capability and Culture
The Office of the Auditor-General | Te Mana Arotake (the Office) aims to improve trust and promote value in the public sector. Our audits of public organisations – from government departments to councils and schools – play a major part in ensuring that New Zealand's public sector remains one of the most trusted in the world. No other organisation, public or private, has the overview of the whole public sector that the Auditor-General has.
We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term role through to December 2022 in our People and Capability team. Do you thrive on making a real difference to the employee experience? Do you enjoy building people's capability to maximise their potential? Does the opportunity to challenge and influence motivate you? If you've answered “yes” to these questions, then this could be the role for you!
This a blended role bringing OD and L & D together. We're looking for a self-starting innovator who knows the value of good relationships and can work with the business to identify, develop, and implement capability and culture initiatives that will deliver outstanding results. Coaching and supporting people at all levels in the Office will be second nature to you. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to roll up their sleeves, build solutions, and work with external subject-matter experts to achieve desired outcomes. We're interested in how you and your experience will add to our People and Capability team.
Some of the aspects to be successful in this role include:
- significant experience in designing, developing, and delivering capability and organisational development initiatives, activities, and programmes;
- experience in building diversity or cultural capability;
- strong ability to manage priorities while driving a variety of activities and deadlines with sharp attention to detail and quality;
- an innovative approach to problem solving; and
- most importantly, a great sense of humour!
As an organisation people matter to us, our independence is critical, we act with integrity and courage, and we're here to make a difference.
We offer our staff:
- learning and development opportunities;
- supportive flexible working;
- a unique operating environment with Parliament; and
- health and well-being benefits.
We have a diverse and inclusive team that helps us to understand the issues facing the public sector and how these affect the lives of New Zealanders. We strongly welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to tell us when you apply so that we can assist you through the recruitment process.
