Job Description

Housing New Zealand's vision is to be the social housing provider of choice. Our Asset Development Group is responsible for delivering Housing New Zealand's Asset Management Strategy and aims to be recognized and respected as a key player in the residential development community.

Reporting to the Development Planning Manager , this role is part of the Development Planning team while also working collaboratively with others across the business. This is an opportunity to positively influence the delivery of Housing New Zealand's development and reconfiguration goals.

The role

The focus of this role is to contribute to the assessment of development land and support the delivery of Housing New Zealand's regulatory consenting activity through various Councils in New Zealand.

This will include: preparation review and coordination of planning documentation, including consent applications; District Plan submissions; master-plans and structure plans, initiating changes where required while maintaining a high quality standard to ensure efficient and effective outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • in-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience of the Resource Management Act, Local Government Act and associated legislation/regulations
  • demonstrated effectiveness in preparing and presenting planning assessments and reports
  • proven negotiation and mediation skills
  • proven Project Management, research and evaluation skills
  • strong communication skills and the ability to represent the organisation in a professional manner
  • relevant tertiary qualifications
  • sound computer literacy in Microsoft Windows/Office environment
  • current clean full driver's licence.
