Job Description

  • Two x permanent full-time positions
  • Based at Greenlane, Auckland office

Housing New Zealand provides properties for people and families during the duration of their need. We maintain and upgrade our properties to a warm, dry and safe condition to live in.

Our Asset Management Team in People & Property Team ensures their asset portfolio is effectively managed to meet Housing New Zealand's strategic targets. The team is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of the portfolio, managing the upgrade, configuration and divestment of assets, minimising vacancies and maximising portfolio utilisation.

As Portfolio Manager you will ensure that the asset portfolio meets Housing New Zealand's social and commercial objectives, be responsible for monitoring the delivery of the precinct plans including monitoring performance against targets, exceptions reporting, and resolving issues before they impact on Housing New Zealand's customers or front line staff.

As Portfolio Manager you will:

  • develop comprehensive asset management plans for the portfolio, write business cases, prepare redevelopment briefs and develop work programmes for specific plan-related activities
  • undertake regular reviews of market rents for the portfolio to ensure income optimisation
  • assist the Planning Team to develop the Area Asset Management Plans
  • build strong working relationships with internal and key external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • strong experience in asset/facilities management, planning and /or property valuation coupled with a good understanding of the property development process
  • focus on delivering successful outcomes
  • proven relationship and stakeholder management skills across the property sector
  • exceptional influencing, communication and business case writing skills
  • relevant Property Management or Valuation qualifications.
