Housing New Zealand's vision is to be the social housing provider of choice. Our Asset Development Group is responsible for delivering our Asset Management Strategy and aims to be recognized and respected as a key player in the residential development community.

Reporting to the Development Planning Manager, this role is part of the Development Planning team and works collaboratively with others across the business. This is an opportunity to positively influence the delivery of Housing New Zealand's Asset Management Strategy and be instrumental in planning the future as we become the social housing provider of choice.

The focus of this role is to provide high quality and professional town planning expertise to our Asset Management Strategy team and to provide strategic action on opportunities which arise from town planning processes. Improving the quality and standards of planning documentation, consent applications, submissions, master plans and structure plans you will be comfortable initiating change and ensuring effective outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • a relevant tertiary qualification and professional experience in resource planning
  • extensive sector experience at a senior level
  • in-depth knowledge of the Resource Management Act, Local Government Act and associated legislation /regulations
  • demonstrated effectiveness in the preparation and presentation of planning evidence and assessments
  • proven negotiation and communication skills.
