Job Description

Are you a Business Analyst who enjoys being a jack of all trades, loves a variety of tasks and is looking for an innovative medium sized project that will make a tangible difference to the NZ health system? You are? Great - we want you to join us!

In this 12month (approx.) fixed term position you will be responsible for providing the technical and business analytical expertise to support the successful implementation of our PHARMConnect Phase One project. Specifically, you will support the delivery vendor and relevant business teams to map and align operational workflows.

To be successful in this role you will need experience to hit the ground running, be comfortable working with minimal supervision, have a flexible approach to your work, work comfortably with ambiguity and have the capability to actively support and contribute to activities which enhance the services working alongside our ICT team.

Who we are

At PHARMAC we really care about the best possible healthcare for New Zealanders. Our job is to make responsible choices and our team delivers a lot with the judicious use of resources. It's not always easy as our decisions impact on people, families, whanau and our wider society - we take that responsibility very seriously.

We work with others in the health sector, we use robust evidence-based processes and we never stop using our ingenuity to make things better. We have built a highly successful and unique organisation and our contribution continues to grow. We have always done things in new and different ways and that's not going to change. Everything else is up for discussion.

Are you curious, like figuring out how to do things, ok with working in a fluid and sometimes unpredictable environment, always deliver the goods, and want to apply your mind to helping New Zealanders?If you display the following skills and qualifications this is the role for you.

Skills & qualifications

As the project Business Analyst, you should bring:

  • at least 5-8 years' experience in business analysis;
  • experience with the development lifecycle;
  • the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the organisation;
  • a delivery focus;
  • demonstrated leadership skills; and
  • an innovative approach to solving business problems

The work environment

The Strategic Initiatives Directorate is newly formed to accelerate PHARMACs bold goals.  The PHARMConnect Project will deliver business benefits both internally and to the Health Sector.  The project team will work closely alongside our Corporate ICT team and Subject Matter Experts from within the business.

The PHARMAC website About page is a useful resource to understand more about what we do and includes an Our People section, with staff profiles for a flavour of who you will work with.
