The New Zealand Police Information and Communications Technology Service Centre (ICTSC) are seeking to appoint a Senior Developer based at the Royal New Zealand Police College, Porirua.


Senior Developer is a generic position description that covers the range of development platforms used within New Zealand Police.


This particular role is for an experienced Drupal developer to provide development of internet and intranet sites that meet the organisation's needs. You will be working in a small team and will need to be proficient in both front-end and back-end development.


Whilst Drupal will be the primary focus for the role we are ideally seeking a candidate with a broad range of skills and experience who is willing to work on a variety of development projects should the need arise.


The responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, development and implementation of web solutions.
  • Development and integration of back-end functionality.
  • Liaison with third party web server suppliers.
  • Managing all technical aspects of the websites.
  • Database administration and design.
  • Ensuring high-performance and availability


Skills/Experience you will have:

  • Demonstrates extensive experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Demonstrates strong PHP development experience.
  • Demonstrates deep familiarity with creating custom Drupal modules and using powerful modules such as Views, Services, Panels and the Drush CMI
  • Demonstrates experience with NGINX and Linux server administration
  • Demonstrates experience in other development platforms.
