Opportunity in our Project Practice Team within People, Technology Change

Based in National Office in Wellington

Housing New Zealand is a Statutory Crown Entity responsible for providing high quality state housing to people in the greatest need, for the duration of their need, alongside supporting the government's priorities in the supply of emergency and affordable housing.

The Business Change and Improvement team is primarily focussed on the delivery of new solutions processes, technology and people to enable improved operational effectiveness. This role is part of the Project Practice team which is a large team of project professionals. As a member of the team you will have exposure to many kinds of projects from policy and process to construction. You will also help shape an evolving team and be part of a culture of excellence, trust and delivering as one team.

Reporting to the Project Practice Team Leader, we are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator. In this role you will have strong administration and coordination skills to support the project managers with documentation, plans and reporting on key projects for Housing New Zealand.

To be successful you will have:

  • experience in Administration and Project Coordination working in roles with high level scheduling and coordination
  • knowledge of project life cycle and best practice standards
  • organisational skills, especially the ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • good written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly in plain language
  • excellent word processing skills and proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
  • strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good customer and partner relationships
  • the ability to work with the bigger picture while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • sound judgement, discretion and proven ability to work under pressure.
