Housing New Zealand is a Statutory Crown Entity responsible for providing high quality state housing to people in the greatest need, for the duration of their need, alongside supporting the government's priorities in the supply of emergency and affordable housing.

Housing New Zealand's vision is 'Building lives and communities by housing New Zealanders'. To help achieve this, we require a Tenancy Manager who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of properties within the Papanui area and holding integral relationships with our tenants. You will be sensitive to the needs of different communities and cultures, and potentially manage some tenants with more challenging and complex needs.

You will be self managing, motivated, enthusiastic and be able to work in a team and a mobile environment. You will have the ability to think on your feet, make quality decisions, and solve problems.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • an ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • expertise in time management and organisation skills
  • an understanding of social housing and its complexities
  • the skills to manage conflict and de-escalate situations
  • excellent communication skills both (verbal and written)
  • a full and clean drivers licence
  • the ability to travel frequently (vehicle provided)
  • a sound working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (preferred).
