Job Description

  • Four full time, permanent opportunities

Housing New Zealand is a Statutory Crown Entity responsible for providing high quality state housing to people in the greatest need, for the duration of their need, alongside supporting the government's priorities in the supply of emergency and affordable housing.

Housing New Zealand's vision is 'Building lives and communities by housing New Zealanders'. To help us achieve this we are currently recruiting four Senior Advisors - Tenancy Partnerships to join our new teams of Intensive Tenancy Managers. The team's function is to provide a high level of pastoral care for some of our highest need tenants. These tenants face significant life challenges such as social isolation, mental illness, physical disability, limited life skills or addiction.

In this role you will be accountable for identifying and connecting with existing agencies (Govt. and NGO) as well as localised support services within the community, and to highlight gaps between existing service providers and the needs of our tenants. You will also be creating pathways for access to these services for our tenants by working with other government agencies to access funding, developing business cases for funding proposals and making contracting arrangements for services.

What you'll need to bring:

  • The ability to maintain credible relationships internally and externally
  • Confidence influencing others to comply with relevant policies and processes
  • Sound understanding of social housing and the complexities within this
  • Demonstrated experience of relationship development and management
  • Demonstrated experience of negotiation and problem solving
  • Ability to document and develop innovative practices and processes where appropriate

What we offer:

  • The opportunity to grow your career
  • A competitive salary and a comprehensive set of benefits to protect your future
  • A team that is proud of what they do

We offer you an environment with great opportunities and exciting challenges and the chance to join a team of professionals who are passionate about people, improving the quality of our tenant's homes and also giving something back to the community.
