Housing New Zealand's aim is to be the social housing provider of choice. Our Asset Development group is responsible for delivering Housing's asset management strategy and aims to be recognized and respected as a key player in the residential development community.

We are looking for a Programme Manager to play a key role managing the delivery of our asset work programme through a multitude of contracts (both large scale/multiple year and small scale targeted contracts).

Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, you will be working with a variety of development partners, contractors and consultants delivering various Asset Development group redevelopment, refurbishment and development work programme. This requires strong influencing skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure to ensure that all agreed contractual deliverables are achieved.

Success in this role will mean:

  • managing large and/or complex programmes of work including overseeing multiple construction projects
  • managing and negotiating contacts and variations
  • reviewing and implementing processes and procedures of deliverables
  • delivering programmes and projects on time, within budget and to standard
  • building and managing credible relationships with all stakeholders across multiple work programmes to achieve excellent service delivery.

Your experience will include:

  • relevant technical knowledge and qualifications
  • demonstrated work in the property and/or construction industry
  • excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language
  • computer literacy in MS suite of products, particularly Word, Excel, Visio and MS Project.
