  • Permanent, full-time role
  • Based in our Central Auckland Office
  • Annual salary of $141,450 plus five weeks annual leave

The role

Our vision is 'Building lives and communities by housing New Zealanders'. To help us achieve this we are currently recruiting for an Engagement Manager to lead a team of Stakeholder Managers responsible for implementing stakeholder engagement activity at a local and regional level. The activity is focused on engaging stakeholders in a timely, professional and effective way to support our strategic and operational goals.

You will work closely with the Communications Managers to ensure that stakeholder related communications and issues management work, including stakeholder related media opportunities, is pro-active and on-message. This will include owning, improving and implementing an engagement strategy that successfully shares national messages at a community level.

What you'll need to bring

  • Bachelor degree in Communications or a similar field
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and communications work experience
  • Experience in effective people leadership, the ability to help build team spirit and reward the contribution of others
  • Excellent skills in strategic thinking, corporate positioning, and a proven track record in issues management
  • Proven experience in dealing with communities and a wide range of networks and organizations
  • Knowledge of proactive and appropriate engagement strategies including communications and marketing elements
