The role

Our vision is 'building lives and communities by housing New Zealanders'. To help achieve this we are currently recruiting for an experienced ICT Programme Manager to join our Wellington based team on a fixed-term for eighteen months.

In this role you will be responsible for managing a large ICT programme of work, developing great team and customer partnerships and through this delivering excellent outcomes. This isn't a learning on the job role so you must have demonstrable ICT programme management experience in complex environments.

You will be an expert at sequencing work streams, budget forecasting, and working closely with Senior IT Management, Architecture, Enterprise Project Office, Change Management and the Project Practice.

You will manage relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and as a senior member of the business group will manage, mentor and develop Project Managers and Coordinators.

What you'll need to bring:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Business Management or equivalent
  • MSP, PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner certified or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Programme Manager, Portfolio Manager or Senior Project Manager
  • Proven experience in initiating a programme in ambiguous circumstances
  • Excellent knowledge of project/programme management techniques and methodologies
  • Demonstrable leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent problem solving ability and the ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
  • Experience in influencing and working effectively with external organisations
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent the organisation
  • Demonstrable experience managing and developing large professional teams
  • Ability to lead and manage a group of staff whose work direction will be lead by different groups
