Project Coordinator at Ministry of Defence, Wellington - Wairarapa

Manatū Kaupapa Waonga (Ministry of Defence) is looking for three fixed term Project Coordinators to be involved in large and complex projects.
Two of the Project Coordinator roles are fixed term from February to around November 2021, and are based in Defence House.
The other Project Coordinator role is fixed term for two years and is ordinarily based at Trentham Military Camp in Upper Hutt Wellington for around 4 days per week. The remaining time would be at Defence House in central Wellington.
You will be supporting the project leader and the wider project teams with the day to day management, administration and support functions of the project.
As a member of an integrated project team you will need to be comfortable engaging with stakeholders across the Ministry of Defence and New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF), as well as interact with the defence industry, and quickly develop strong working relationships.

A proven track record in coordinating large complex projects within tight timeframes would be advantageous.
- An understanding of project management methodologies
- Proven ability scheduling, reporting, and working with risk registers
- Enthusiasm, flexibility, and strong self-motivation
- Experience working in a fast paced environment
- An ability to multi-task and effectively manage time to deliver excellent results
- Experience providing administrative support to project teams

The Ministry of Defence has progressive policies which include flexible working and wellbeing provisions. The salary for this role is around $75,000 gross per annum.
We are the Government's lead civilian advisor on defence. We also purchase major equipment which becomes a capability when it is used by service men and women of the New Zealand Defence Force.

For this role it means candidates must have been a New Zealand citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a NZ Resident Visa or a NZ Permanent Resident Visa, and have been a citizen of the UK, Canada, USA or Australia, for at least the past 10 years.
