  • Two twelve month fixed-term, full-time positions
  • Based in Auckland Central Regional Office, Greenlane
  • Annual salary of $129,714 plus five weeks' annual leave

The role

Our vision is 'building lives and communities by housing New Zealanders.' To help us achieve this, we are currently recruiting for two twelve month, fixed-term Development Strategy Advisors to join our team.

This role is working at the conception of projects. Starting with assessing sites, working through feasibility scenarios and engaging with the wider business to ensure end user needs are met. Relationship skills and stakeholder engagement are key in this role, you need to get everyone on track to get the job done.

Main requirements of this role:

  • Provide high quality, professional development site identification and feasibility expertise
  • Support the Development Strategy contribution in achieving the Housing New Zealand Asset Management Strategy (AMS)
  • Actively contribute to filling the ADG Pipeline with quality development sites
  • Provide development feasibility expertise, providing ready to activate development sites, at the right time, for optimised (highest and best use) Housing New Zealand development outcomes
  • Prepare and review development feasibility and modelling, ensuring high quality, efficient and effective portfolio development outcomes for Housing New Zealand
  • Contribute to the production of Precinct and Neighbourhood Plans
  • Provide a strategic framework for asset treatment across the national portfolio

What you'll need to bring:

  • In-depth knowledge and demonstrated senior level experience of property development and associated legislation/regulations
  • Proven negotiation and mediation skills
  • Strong research and evaluation skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in preparing and presenting development feasibility and scenario modelling
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
