  • Annual salary of $98,500 with five weeks annual leave and a suite of insurances

The job

Our vision is 'Building lives and communities by housing New Zealanders'. To help us achieve this we are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our Contractor Assurance team based in Wellington.

In this role you will be responsible for providing assurance activities against best practice health and safety performance in the area of our build portfolio. You will be skilled at working with a large range of the contracting community and have significant experience in the construction safety industry. You will be self managing, motivated, enthusiastic and able to work in a team and a mobile environment. You will have the ability to think on your feet, make quality decisions, and solve problems along with identifying risks, escalating issues and congratulating great performance.

What you'll need to bring:

  • Strong experience in the management of contractor health and safety performance
  • Ability to provide practical interpretation of technical requirements
  • Proven investigation skills using a range of methodologies. You must be able to demonstrate the end to end processes you have used
  • Experience in providing quality advice to line management to ensure the safety and health deliverables have been met
  • Willingness to travel regularly for two to three days at a time
