Station Support Officer

New Zealand Police

Hutt Valley

Permanent, Full-time

Remuneration range: $48,188.00 - $65,197.00

This full-time position of Station Support Officer primarily based at the Lower Hutt Police Station but will involve period of times relieving or seconded at the Upper Hutt Police Station. The purpose of the roll is to provide administrative support and telephony services.

 

This includes, but is not limited to, front counter service, data entry, typing, process and movement of files and provide an excellent customer service to the public.

 

The role requires the use of various Police and standard computer programs. Training will be provided.

 

It is a shift-based roster giving 7 days per week coverage 0700-1900 Monday to Friday, 0700-1600 Saturday and 0800-1700 on Sundays and including some Public Holidays. 

 

Skills - You will be able to:

  • Enter, update and report on high volume files/documents/data entry processes
  • Prioritise workflows
  • Manage time effectively to complete multiple files and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
  • Prepare correspondence for internal and external agencies

 

Experience - You must:

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and application of computer based records, file management and Microsoft office systems
  • Demonstrate proficiency in data entry, time management and an ability to prioritise workload.
  • Demonstrate customer service skills and an ability to work in a high-pressure team environment

Special Requirements:

  • All shortlisted applicants may be required to undergo a typing test, with a minimum typing speed of 35 wpm
  • A full drivers' licence is required

 

Additional Information:

  • Position is subject to rotation
  • Transfer costs are included
  • The successful applicant must be flexible to work at either Upper Hutt or Lower Hutt Police Stations as required
