The Workplace Safety and Levy team uses human centred design and agile implementation processes to design and implement products and services that enhance the experience our customers have with ACC and support continuous improvement across New Zealand's health and safety system.

About the role:

As the Design Manager you will be supporting the organisation's on-going transformation by designing our next generation of products and services that will support our customers to continue to evolve their risk management practices to reduce the burden of injury to businesses and the communities they operate within. You will be instrumental in determining where ACC focuses its investment to create enhanced experiences for our customers.

We'll call on your expertise from inception to prototype development and testing. You'll convert strategic thinking into reality and be responsible for the successful design of behaviour change programs that can be successfully implemented while leading a high performing team of Design specialists.

Key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Establish and maintain long-term strategic relationships with partners to meet organisational goals for harm reduction
  • Identify and respond to opportunities to improve customer experience
  • Embed agile and human centred design practices into the DNA of the team.
  • Ensure the customers voice is responded to through co-design approaches
  • Develop strategic behaviour change programmes
  • Lead the development of products and services that respond to the customer value propositions to shape customer experiences
  • Lead a dynamic and passionate design team

What we are looking for:

An entrepreneurial outlook driven to create experiences that add value to our customers and the communities they live in. Along with proven management experience, you will understand what it takes to change behaviour. Ideally you have experience with the Scrum agile methodology in a business (non-IT) capacity.

You will need to bring strong influencing, leadership, negotiation and relationship management skills, preferably from working within large and complex environments to truly succeed here. But most of all, you'll be driven by challenges and have a passion for excellence!
