Here at Southland Hospital, our Radiology Service is of critical importance to the successful functioning of the Hospital and to the delivery patient care through the provision of a wide range of modern imaging modalities. This is a busy and vibrant environment where you will at times be working within available resources and a multitude of challenges - we are hoping that this role ticks the boxes for you to be able to join us as the Radiology Manager for this department.
About the role
This role includes operational management responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of our Service alongside a quality focus through the onsite leadership and coordination of local quality and performance initiatives. You'll be responsible for leading and managing the diverse team of Nurses, Administration staff and Medical Imaging Technologists. The service has Charge MITs who you can rely upon to assist you in the day-to-day service provision of different areas and overseeing the organisation's obligations with infection prevention and control and health and safety. It's imperative that opportunities are taken to develop the team while focusing on the key accountabilities of operational leadership, service planning, quality and risk management, and financial performance.
The nature of Radiology makes it fast paced and at times a challenging environment, so we're focused on finding someone highly organised with great interpersonal skills who will work alongside others to inspire and motivate to get the best outcomes for our patients.
Our new manager will be the 'go to' person for the multidisciplinary team, coordinating and enabling them to achieve timely and appropriate service outcomes, and to work in partnership with other managers and key contacts within the organisation for accreditation, clinical pathway development and service improvements.
You'll bring to this role previous experience in a management role, having displayed outstanding leadership and development of your team. You'll be business focused with demonstrated practice of holding and effectively managing a budget. Ideally you'll have used Lean Thinking practices and be able to see the big picture, but also get involved in investigating and exploring opportunities for service enhancements.
