Job Description

  • Newly created role, take ownership of the Knowledge Management function.
  • Help build our data driven and intelligence led culture.
  • Auckland or Wellington location.

The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) aims to promote better outcomes for investors, consumers, professionals, businesses, and for the New Zealand economy.  The Monitoring Frameworks team is part of the broader Regulation function which monitors the conduct, competency and compliance of financial market participants through an intelligence-led approach. One of the responsibilities of this team is to deliver central knowledge management, business process and intelligence services to all FMA teams.

To support this objective we have a newly created position available within this team for a Manager, Knowledge Management.  Reporting to the Head of Monitoring Frameworks, this position will see you champion organisation-wide information best practice and knowledge sharing, so that the FMA's know-how, information and experience inform our actions and interactions.  You'll help drive the development of the FMA's information management maturity, positioning information as a strategic asset, while managing appropriate knowledge management governance and policy.   While there is a technical element to the role (working with IT to ensure we have appropriate systems, applications, information architecture, data structures, and standards to support the management and exploitation of information), more important is the ability to build relationships, identify opportunities to ensure others are informed, involved and buy into initiatives and developments.

Key to your success in this role will be your previous, extensive experience in Information and Knowledge Management. You'll have proven experience in developing and delivering knowledge sharing programs and will be comfortable using your strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to drive cultural change (preferably in an environment with highly qualified specialists). Technically, you'll have had exposure to EDRMS, (Opentext and SharePoint) and CRM Dynamics administration (or equivalent) in a comparable environment.

In return, we offer a great CBD location, a supportive and collaborative environment where you'll join and learn from a technically diverse team. You will also benefit from joining a team that values a strong work life balance.

The Financial Markets Authority is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and is committed to maintaining an inclusive culture where all employees have the opportunity to reach their potential. We recognise that our continued success is dependent on the performance and ability of our employees.
