Job Description

  • Help build our data informed, intelligence led culture.
  • Join a talented, hard-working team where your contribution will be valued.
  • Auckland CBD location.

The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) aims to promote better outcomes for investors, consumers, professionals, businesses, and for the New Zealand economy.  The Monitoring Frameworks team is part of the broader Regulation function which monitors the conduct, competency and compliance of financial market participants through an intelligence-led approach.

To support this objective, we currently have an opportunity available for an Analyst, Intelligence to work alongside the front-line regulatory teams, taking responsibility for providing quality analysis and advice and for helping to identify & prioritise market risks.

Key to your success in this position is your thorough understanding of research and analysis methodologies along with a sound knowledge of intelligence processes and analytical tools. You'll have proven experience working with data manipulation tools, confidence working with large and complex data sets, and excellent communication skills.   Analytical by nature, you'll enjoy using your well-developed problem-solving and influencing skills to identify issues, think creatively and ultimately make a positive impact on NZ's financial markets. While not essential, an understanding of behavioural economics, compliance or related fields will be beneficial.

In return, we offer a great CBD location, a supportive and collaborative environment where you'll join and learn from a technically diverse team. You will also benefit from joining a team that values a strong work life balance.
