The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) aims to promote better outcomes for investors, consumers, professionals, businesses, and for the New Zealand economy.  The Monitoring Frameworks team is part of the broader Regulation function which monitors the conduct, competency and compliance of financial market participants through an intelligence-led approach.  One of the responsibilities of this team is to deliver central knowledge management, business process and intelligence services to all FMA teams.

We have a rare opportunity for a Manager, Intelligence to lead a team of 5 in our Intelligence function. You'll manage the team directly to support our FMA wide intelligence-led, data informed, risk based approach through the delivery of high quality actionable intelligence products, tools, and services. You'll be ultimately responsible for identifying and developing responses to key issues and contribute to growing the FMA's understanding of its regulated population, its periphery, and the harms they may present. 

As an experienced people leader, you'll have the ability to motivate, influence and inspire others and be comfortable managing significant resources while also working as part of a leadership team in a complex organisation. Your previous senior level experience in a Research and Analysis function will allow you to quickly establish credibility and grow trust and respect. You'll bring in-depth practical knowledge of the regulatory environment, financial sector and markets, and government sector in NZ and, while not essential, an international outlook gained from experience in external markets would be highly regarded.
