Senior Health, Safety, and Well-being Advisor

 

The Office of the Auditor-General | Te Mana Arotake aims to improve trust and confidence in public services by giving New Zealanders an independent view of government spending and performance. As the statutory auditor of all public organisations, from councils to schools, the Auditor-General's work plays a major part in ensuring that our public sector remains one of the most trusted in the world.

We're looking for an exceptional Senior Health, Safety, and Well-being Advisor to join our People and Capability team. In this role, you'll lead the implementation of our health, safety, and well-being management system and supporting policies and processes, create guidance aligned with best practice, provide governance reporting, and develop initiatives aligned to our work programme.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • experience working in a health, safety, and well-being role;
  • a strong understanding of policy and legislation;
  • experience developing systems, policies, and processes and implementing health, safety, and well-being initiatives;
  • experience and skills developing governance reporting and dashboards;
  • the ability to engage with and influence a wide range of stakeholders;
  • a focus on process improvement; and
  • strong analytical skills and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

A health and safety qualification is desirable for this role.
