Job Description

Each year the Tertiary Education Commission invests approximately $3 billion in tertiary education so that New Zealanders are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for lifelong success. Our role is to invest government funding, provide information and advice to the government and to monitor the performance of tertiary education organisations

 

The Monitoring and Crown Ownership team (MCO) provides advice to the Minister, the TEC Board and TEC Executive Leadership team on TEO Audits, Investigations, System wide reviews, financial performance and capital asset management, Ministerial appointments and governance – at an individual TEO level and sector trend analysis.

 

The Intelligence Analyst will provide strategic and targeted advice, build relationships and develop systems to support the MCO Team goals.

 

This role has a number of specialist technical skills, combining, strong financial and business analysis, along with being technological savvy  

 

The Intelligence Analyst will work with other members of the MCO team to provide high quality information in a timely manner, use their technical skills to extract, analyse and summarise data from various databases and use their analytical skills to identify ways to investigate issues and questions from available data.

 

The incumbent must have the ability to,

 

  • use information systems and business intelligence tools to develop information and reports,
  • undertake analysis as required, including understanding and interpretation of information,
  • to collect, analyse and present data that is accurate and meets the recipients requirements,
  • present results of analysis in a way that shows  their understanding and interpretation of impacts and consequences,
  • ability to review and analyse information and test assumptions.
