Traffic Camera Operator


New Zealand Police

Permanent, Full-time

Remuneration range: $46,336.00 - $62,689.00

Southern District Police are currently seeking a positive, motivated individual to join the Traffic Camera Operator team. The team is responsible for contributing to Police business goals particularly to reducing Deaths and Serious Injuries on our roads.


This role requires you to be able to work autonomously with limited supervision on a day to day basis and an ability to work in with team members working towards our business goals. You will need to be flexible with the ability to work shift work, including working early mornings, evening shifts, weekends and public holidays.


Skills & Experience - you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the Safer Journeys Action Plan (2016-2020) in relation to safe speeds.
  • Demonstrate an intermediate level of computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office, and the ability to file reports and maintain logs following required procedures and processes.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing situations and manage time effectively to meet high work demands and objectives.
