Job Description

Senior Developer: High Tech Crime Group

New Zealand Police

Wellington

Salary Range $84,471.00 - $109,457.00

Permanent

Job Requisition ID 7394

Are you interested in working in an environment that is challenging and different to anything that you have been part of before? We are looking for a self-starter who is innovative and enjoys problem solving to join a dedicated team to build, enhance and maintain our capabilities.

This role will see you working across a range of technologies; you will need a broad understanding of development platforms and data manipulation. A background in data encryption or embedded software would be a real bonus.

In our organisation, change is expected and good; you will be constantly presented with challenges here, so there will be no opportunity for you to become bored! Things happen quickly and you will be able react accordingly.

Ideally you will:

  • Be self-motivated and have excellent organisational, research, and communication skills
  • Pay attention to detail and have the flexibility to cope with change
  • Have the ability to rapidly absorb, understand and apply new concepts and technologies
  • Be capable of making sound decisions under pressure
  • Work well in team environments

There may be a need to work in the field from time to time so you will need to be physically and mentally able.  A physical and/or psychological assessment may be required.

You will have a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved whatever is needed. This is an operationally focussed group so you will need to be able switch priorities and focus quickly.
