Court Custody Authorised Officer

Auckland

Permanent, Full-time

Remuneration range: $56,211.00 - $76,051.00

The New Zealand police has a number of vacancies for Authorised Officers in the Waitemata District, Auckland City District and Counties Manukau District Custody and Court units.

The role of the Authorised Officer is to ensure the safe, secure and humane containment and transportation of detainees with in the Police Custody environment. A Custody environment is any location where a person is in police custody, including cells, courtrooms, prisons, hospitals and the transit between locations. 

Authorised Officers are required to calmly and professionally process detainees, monitor their welfare, prepare reports and court documents, update police systems and maintain security.  Their role requires high levels of respect, professionalism and integrity.  

Authorised Officers are expected to use their initiatives to make quick and well considered decisions.  Mental and physical wellbeing are important components of the Authorised Officers role.

As part of the selection process applicants will be required to complete components of the health and fitness requirements that must be met by Police applicants which is the Physical Competency Test (PCT).  For more info visit www.newcops.co.nz for more information.

Remuneration range: $56,211.00 - $76,051.00

The above total remuneration is for full-time (40 hours per week) hours. It will be pro-rated if an employee work for less than 40 hours per week.

  

Special Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a full New Zealand drivers License and have competence in driving a manual transmission. 
  • Applicants must be a New Zealand or Australian or a New Zealand resident or have a valid New Zealand work visa
  • Applicants must be able to pass the PCT (Physical Competency Test).
  • A typing test must also be passed at 25 wpm or better
