A full time Administrator Officer is available in the Northern Digital Forensics Unit based in Otahuhu, Auckland. We are looking for someone who is team orientated, will get involved, and bring fresh and positive energy to the team. This role is primarily administrative but has an information technology aspect, with opportunities to grow IT related skills. Due to the nature of the work and environment, personality is just as important as technical capabilities to be successful in this role.

 

As an Administration Officer, you will need to demonstrate the following technical requirements:

The ability to balance conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow, ensure the completion of essential tasks, and meet critical deadlines.

Knowledge and experience relating to computer hardware and software.

Self-motivation, and the ability to work and communicate positively in a team environment.

 

The successful candidate for this role will:

  • Enter, update and report on computer-based record keeping/filing systems.
  • Manage competing demands and high workload at times.
  • Be self-motivated and have excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Pay attention to detail and have the flexibility to cope with change.
  • Have the ability to rapidly absorb, understand and apply new concepts and technologies.
  • Be capable of making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Work well in team environments.

 

The day-to-day tasks for an Administration Officer: HTCG are:

  • Provides administrative support to the High Tech Crime Group by:
  • Receiving visitors to the unit, and first point of contact between Police and other external visitors or callers to HTCG.
  • Exhibit reception and chain-of-custody.
  • Ensuring correct documentation is received and sent with exhibits.
  • Maintaining the exhibit store.
  • Maintaining and updating software licenses.
  • Maintaining the HTCG Asset database.
  • Maintaining HTCG files.
  • Creating, maintaining, and disseminating updated documentation, reports, or reference materials.

Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain & hold national security clearance (secret).
  • The successful applicant to this position will be required to undergo a full reference and security check prior to any offer of employment being made and must either have or obtain a Government security clearance to Secret level before the position is confirmed. This requirement means you must have resided in one of the following countries for the last ten years: New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, or United States of America.
