Salary Range $48,188 - $65,197

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to come and work for the whole of Eastern District, based in Gisborne.  It is busy and challenging, but most definitely rewarding. This is a diverse community that will offer the successful applicant an opportunity to meet many different people.


The role of File Management Support Officer is to provide administrative support to Police across the whole district, which is customer focused, both within police and to the community. This includes data entry, typing, process and movement of files and to provide an excellent customer service to the public.


The role requires the use of both New Zealand Police and generic computer programs.  It is also a team based role in an open plan office, involving a 7 day roster - hours of work 6am - 10pm (this role involves rostered duties at weekends).


Training will be provided to the successful applicants, by the supportive team.


Skills - you will be able to:

  • Enter, update and report on high volume files and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate excellence in customer service
  • Prioritise workflows
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
  • Prepare correspondence for internal and external agencies


Experience - you will have:

  • A thorough knowledge and application of computer based records
  • File management and Microsoft office systems
  • Proficiency in data entry and Customer service skills
  • An ability to work in a team environment
  • An ability to complete audio and have competent touch typing skills

Special requirements:

  • Applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand or Australia to apply for this position
  • Applicants must satisfactory meet the Police vetting & reference check requirements
  • Applicants must hold a Full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • All shortlisted applicants may be required to undergo a typing test, with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute
  • The successful applicant must be able to work a 7 day roster, including weekends and public holidays
