Director: Evidence Based Policing

New Zealand Police

Permanent, Full-Time

Salary Range $192,100 - $259,900

Evidence-Based Policing (EBP) is about using information, crime-science and problem-solving methods to ensure that proven approaches and tactics inform our choices, are seen in the results, and provide confidence that what we do works.

 

EBP presents an opportunity for New Zealand Police to embed an evidence base into all of our operations and this role will lead the creation and implementation of the new EBP Service Centre.

 

This is an opportunity to lead the formation of the newly created EBP Service Centre and shape a new way of working within Police. This new Director EBP role will lead a highly specialised, multi-disciplinary team within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

 

This is a senior level appointment with high expectations on delivery. It demands an exceptional leader who is able to bring together, motivate and achieve results across a number of distinct disciplines. A sharp customer service focus is paramount, ensuring the needs and opportunities at the front line are at the heart of EBP as well as the ability to building key relationships at senior levels both internally and with external stakeholders.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate delivery through leadership. Leading through change, building strategic partnerships and a commitment to the principles of the Police High Performance Framework are all hallmarks of success.

 

The following skills and experience are essential to be successful in this role:

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills and the ability to lead and inspire others
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels
  • An energetic, positive and pro-active approach to their work, with a willingness to "learn the way forward"

Special requirements:
