The New Zealand Police National Organised Crime Group (NOCG), have a vacancy for an Intelligence Analyst based in Tauranga, to be appointed as either a Trainee, Analyst or Senior Intelligence Analyst.

 

The National Organised Crime Group (NOCG) is responsible for detecting, investigating and prosecuting organised crime networks both nationally and internationally.

 

The NOCG Intelligence Unit identifies emerging risks relevant to transnational and organised crime, identifies criminal groups and provides analytical support to investigations.

 

As an Intelligence Analyst you will be skilled at investigating information, be proactive and inquiring, and have the ability to analyse a range of data and information to draw valid conclusions. You must have a high level of interpersonal skills, be able to work as a team member and operate in a dynamic environment.

 

The purpose of this role is to contribute to crime reduction and the prevention and disruption of criminal activity by preparing nationally-standardised intelligence products that inform and support prevention, disruption and enforcement activities.

Skills and experience - applicants must demonstrate:

  • Their ability to conduct analysis of the environment including patterns and trends, drawing conclusion and justifying recommendations (provide examples)
  • Analytical skills working with ambiguous information and adding value to information obtained (provide examples)
  • Strong and effective communication skills including the ability to write clearly and succinctly and present work in a style that effectively influences the target audience

 

Special requirements - applicants must:

  • Hold the New Zealand Diploma in Intelligence Analysis or equivalent. If the NZDIA is not held, the applicant must have the necessary relevant experience and be able to complete and submit the required NZDIA modules within 15 months of employment
  • Be a New Zealand Citizen or have permanent residency and be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate national security clearance

  • Deliver - Level 1 (Individual Contributor)

Remuneration range:

  • Trainee Analyst $43,864 - $49,348
  • Analyst $55,927 - $72,376
  • Senior Analyst $64,042 - $87,728
